A personal experience and love for children led ISF CEO, Cyndy Loomis, to serve on the Board of the Children’s Home Society of Florida’s (CHS) North Central Division in the Big Bend. Ms. Loomis’ 17 year old son, John, was born 12 weeks premature and received in-home services through CHS. Ms. Loomis states, “The services we received made all the difference in John’s development. The guidance provided by CHS case managers was invaluable as we sought to overcome the challenges his premature birth could have posed.” The family received services such as regular home visits, medical referrals, medical counseling, and physical and massage therapy for John.
Ms. Loomis’ one-year Board tenure began in May 2012. She is looking forward to serving the non-profit and the children under its care. The CEO not only brings 25+ years of leadership and business experience to the Board, but her personal commitment to the families served and a special understanding of the needs of medically at-risk children.
CHS opened its doors in Tallahassee in 1964 as an adoption agency, and later expanded its services to meet additional needs of children through emergency shelter care, evaluation, early intervention, counseling and treatment for abused and neglected children.
